This episode had technical difficulties during recording, but we chose to publish it anyway because it captures a genuine conversation. Rather than re-recording and making it feel rehearsed, we wanted you to experience the authentic connection, real stories, and honest moments that make the 702 Chisme Podcast what it is.
Join us as we sit down with Brenda Montez, owner of Celestial Estile Co., to talk about her journey into fashion, the inspiration behind her brand, and what makes her style stand out. We discuss the challenges and rewards of running a small business, the story behind the name Celestial Estile Co., and, of course, share a little chisme along the way.
Hey everyone, welcome back to Seven Now Tell you. Uh if you don't have seven out of the market.
SPEAKER_00Hi everybody, yes, very nervous. 100% nervous, but excited. Excited a lot.
SPEAKER_03So before we get into the business section, the business talk, let's start with everyone who you are, what do you be high nervous?
SPEAKER_00All right, my name is Brenda. I am the owner of Celestial Estyle Co. And I am the face, the one who picks everything that's in my website. I'm practically do everything for my um my business.
SPEAKER_03Okay, and is this your um main work or do you do something else?
SPEAKER_00No, so um I actually uh my husband and I, well, it's his business, but I help him out a lot. Um I do his uh I'm pretty much like the office girl. I'm like the office manager, I'm the bookkeeper, I'm um the one who calls for payments. He owns a like um uh let's see a company that is um trying to figure out how to say this, but um he remodels homes. Um, but right now we are actually working with a lot with restoration companies. So we go back after, like say you had a flood and they cut out drywall or your whole cabinets, and we'll put your house back together. That's practically what we do.
SPEAKER_03So you're helping those that maybe went through like a disaster, like need help in those cases.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. And then like they will go through like their insurance company and then we're the ones that come back and make your house pretty again.
SPEAKER_03So because I guess um is it like a lot with like flooding and things like that, I guess.
SPEAKER_00You know, it does happen a lot, and I've noticed it more on homes that are new, unfortunately, because they were trying to do everything so fast. They're in my opinion, cutting corners. Um, so yeah, so there we've had uh one house that we did, it was like I want to say over a million dollar house, and the guy had a flood. Brand new, brand new built everything, and he was so upset. Like they did his master shower so bad, they cut so many corners, and he was really upset because I mean, a million dollars for a home and it's brand new, and you already have issues.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you never really think about that, yeah. Yeah, so that's your main area of work. Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he took me off of I used to be a medical assistant, but he took me out because of um he needed help in the office, answering phones and all that as well. And I'm like, all right, you match my pay, I'll go.
SPEAKER_03And it's that's smart.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you match my pay, or I stay here, but it actually helped me out a lot more um due to the kids. I'm at home. I our office is based at home, so I'm able to still, you know, do the mom things, pick up drop-offs, all of that. And in between, I have three. Okay, I have three big teenagers.
SPEAKER_03Yes, I've already seen them. They've come to the markets before.
SPEAKER_00Yes, they're my little helpers. They're my helpers that get paid with food and sometimes a little bit of stuff from the vendors.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so that's like a 50-50 kind of deal. Yeah, you come help me and then I'll get you food.
SPEAKER_00Yep, exactly. That's funny.
SPEAKER_03That's what a lot of vendors do. They're like, well, we I just give them food and they're fine. Well, that's my daughter. Yeah, that's what I do with my daughter. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you give them food, they're happy as long as they're they have that, they're good.
SPEAKER_03Okay, that's awesome. So for those who haven't seen your business are not sure your uh business name, how can you describe to the audience what is your business? What do you do?
SPEAKER_00Uh my business is pretty much uh women's clothing, brand new clothes that I, you know, um get wholesale. And I bring my likes, my style to my business. So it's pretty much that. I feel like I go more my business is more like for women and going out clothes.
SPEAKER_02Okay, you know, like nights, like something like that.
SPEAKER_00Yep, uh concerts, um, you know, it's Vegas, so you gotta look at in the night.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so because Sabrina asked that, let's get into that story then. What started this business? What inspired you to start with Celestial?
SPEAKER_00So um I've always wanted and I've always seen this since I was little. Like I I don't know how to explain it, but I've always had this uh like vision of me opening like a little store. Um, I I could picture myself opening it with like a key, you know. And I've always loved everything fashion. Um, it was mainly 90s and early 2000s fashion. That was my thing seeing my older sister grow up with um the 90s era. Loved her clothes. I was too young. She's like four, four or six years older than me, one of the two. Um, so she was a teenager when I was little, and I used to see her. I'm like, oh my gosh, you love her clothes, but you know, too young, too little, you can't wear that. Uh but I always love, I've always been into it. Um, I used to draw my uh like ideas on paper and um things like that. So it was always a dream of me to either have a store or make clothes, and the closest thing to um that now was just opening my my website and you know creating my likes into my store.
SPEAKER_03Okay, and because your name is it stands out so much, what's the reason with that name?
SPEAKER_00So when I um came up with the name, it was and I was already having like ideas of wanting to open, um, but I didn't know when. When was it gonna happen? So I had a big surgery in 2023, um, and I had a lot of downtime, so I was like already looking at the videos and all that, and all I needed was a name because I already had everything, I had all my notes for how to open, what to do, um, and I couldn't think of a name until one day I was reading my Bible and Celestial came out, and Celestial means heavenly. Um, so that with me having my surgery, like it just clicked, you know. So got the name Celestial, and then I'm like, okay, it can't just be Celestial, and I didn't want fashion boutique, I didn't want none of that. So I'm like, what could be next? So I look up different names or or ways to say style. So is style is French in style, but yeah, so it's like it's not Spanish, it's not you know, it's not in Spanish, it's French, so yeah, and then co at the end. I just like threw it in there, like just to make it sound fancy, I guess. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03It's so hard figuring out names, like it sounds like your story was like meant to be.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it is really hard because I had so many. I had names, I was like fashion lit, and I'm like, no, that's not me though. Yeah, so I was like, no, no, no. And then eventually it just I'm like, that's it. Um this is the name, and I'm sticking to it, and yeah, and pick that name out.
SPEAKER_03That's amazing. I didn't know a style is French. How did you find that out? You said just about French.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I did. Okay, I was looking at different um languages to say style, and that one clicked because I was like, So it's like heavenly style, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And then co. What does co stand for? It's yeah, company. Yeah. That's awesome. I like that. Yeah, so that's how my name came about. Thank you. I like that. So you started in 2023. Were you nervous when you started?
SPEAKER_00I did. I did. I was very nervous. Uh was like, you know what, if I don't do it now, it's never gonna happen.
SPEAKER_03Um, so I uh sorry, when was your first like market or did you open like your um website first? How did that go?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I opened my website first, um, and it went okay. I had support from friends, um, mainly. They were all excited to see what I was bringing. Um, and yeah, and then my first market was a little bit after that, I think it was in October was a market in unranchito. Okay and that went pretty good. Um, you know, it was small, but it to me it it was like my first one um first market that I ever did, and I like I was all excited, so it went it went good.
SPEAKER_03That's good. And are you still doing markets now or are you mainly a like storefront online storefront?
SPEAKER_00So the markets that I mainly do are with you guys. Um I've tried uh yes, I've tried markets at a park. Um I've done them and ranchitos, but I feel like with you guys, um I get more like not necessarily I'm saying like they they come and buy a lot, but I get more noticed.
SPEAKER_03Um it's your setup. Your setup is so cute.
SPEAKER_00Thank you. Yes, that's I that's like my thing. Like I want it to look like a store. No, it's my little store.
SPEAKER_03That's what we tell our vendors is to make your little 10 by 10 look like a store.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like if it's it's your store. I mean, pretty much it is, it's just your little setup, but yeah, um, but mainly you guys are my my main focus just because I've tried other markets and I feel like no, like you know, the parks, I feel like they're more family-based, more for kids, uh, moms, but they're not moms in the area that like that like my stuff, you know, and it's okay.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so uh do you remember your first sell?
SPEAKER_00I do. It was actually on my website.
SPEAKER_02Really?
SPEAKER_00It was from one of my friends. She was on like she was the first one to once I launched, she was the first one on my website. Yeah, yeah, supporter. Yeah, and and she came back, she had referrals as well, and um from co-workers, and one of her co-workers was one of my main, like come she would come back often. So um, yeah, that was my first uh I was so excited though, like that made me honestly. I cried. I cried, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Because it's effort, it's always your passion into it.
SPEAKER_00So it makes the time that it took to look for everything and figuring out how to actually upload it on a website. It's it's a lot of work, it's not just uh take a picture and it's up there.
SPEAKER_03Did you design your website yourself or did you have someone design it for you?
SPEAKER_00No, I did.
SPEAKER_03Oh, it's like even more work, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. I had help, thankfully. Um, my older sister helped me a lot. She's we were there was a lot of hiccups before we launched, and she was like, I'm gonna help y'all, we'll figure this out together.
SPEAKER_03That's good. Yeah, you had the help.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03At what moment did you realize like this is actually working and you actually see yourself continuing doing it?
SPEAKER_00Um, let me see. Uh returning when I got returning customers uh from pop-ups, and they were like, Oh, I came back because of you. And I'm like, Okay, so I'm doing something good. I'm doing it right because I'm getting returning people to, you know, my my little store.
SPEAKER_03That's one of the reasons we started this podcast and the interviews was to show like all the behind the scenes of what vendors actually go through. So, like hearing that you made your own website with your sister from scratch, hearing the difficulties of uh building the picture like you said and the behind the scenes of creating a name. There's so much like little detail that people don't know.
SPEAKER_00Yes. They yeah, they don't realize the hard work that goes into just opening anything, you know, but there's a lot of a lot of brain work that you do before brainstorming and all that.
SPEAKER_03And that's uh I think that's what makes you as your business stands out is um a lot of people think, well, it's just closed, what's the big deal? It's it's easy, but they don't see the hard work that's being put into it. There's a lot of hard work and how much yes, exactly.
SPEAKER_00And then there's I mean, now there's an option of like you know, buying your stuff wholesale online, but with that comes a lot of trial and error with the vendors that sell wholesale. With computers, yeah, because there's times where you can um you could pay a little bit more for things and they're better quality, but at the same time, I my business is based on having something that's more um affordable. So, yes, I can you know get something that's let's just say uh $30 per item, but why would I want to sell it for $60, $70? And it's like, no, that's not that's you know, I want to make this affordable for everybody. So I've had a lot of trial and error when it comes to vendors, um, and I have the ones that I stuck with that I'm like, okay, their stuff is decent for me, um, and the material isn't bad.
SPEAKER_03So you decide like certain pieces, clothing pieces, and like how do you what inspires you to pick certain items or like styles?
SPEAKER_00Um, let's see. Um, well, a lot most of the time I try to go based on the um your guys' market. Like, what is the theme? I try to grab pieces, yes, pieces that go with it. Um, there's times where I'm like, no, I have to have this because I feel like it's gonna hit, like it's gonna be something that's gonna last a few months. Because you know, with uh with a fashion, it changes every every season. Um, so there's pieces that I'll be like, okay, you can use this for October and then maybe January, you know. So there's just that's how I pick my pieces when I'm looking at things.
SPEAKER_03That's what I was wondering is how do you keep up with the trends?
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So I learned my lesson in the beginning though, because when I first started, I literally wanted to buy everything. So now I am very like, okay, I I have I'll have a lot of things in my cart, but I'm like, okay, this, no, this, no, this, yes, you know, I'll pick and choose.
SPEAKER_03Um, but it's strategic now.
SPEAKER_00Yes, now I am. I've learned um from my mistake. You know, there are things that I got that I'm like, oh, I still have from when I started, but that was something that I guess as a business owner you you you learn. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And you learn to help you.
SPEAKER_00Um with sometimes my dog, my youngest, she tends to, you know, give me her opinion, like, you know, that's cute, that's not. And then there's times where she'll tell me it's not, but then when I get it, she's like, that is nice. I'm like, yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_03But talking about family, you are basically a part of the 702 family already. Yes. Do you remember when you joined us?
SPEAKER_00I do. I do. The reason why was because it was really hot. And I almost had a heat stroke that day that day. Oh my it was it was really hot that day. I don't know what, but I've done more markets in the in the summer with you guys, but that summer that day specifically, it was really hot. And yeah, but it but after the cool down experience of that, yeah, and that was during the time I think you could drive your car up at Arizona Charlie's, yeah, at Arizona Charlie's. So um that was easier, but at the same time, like just unloading everything. It's just you know, by the time I cooled down, it was fun, it was a nice atmosphere, you know. Everybody was having a good time. The music, me is big time with you guys, is your guys' music. I love it.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you guys.
SPEAKER_00I love it. Oh, yes, I do. I'm uh I'm vibing in my chair or I'm standing like the last market we I did with you guys, uh with the bad bunny. Oh, I could not sit down. I could not sit down.
SPEAKER_03That DJ, he was he was doing all the hits, he didn't know. He was doing everything.
SPEAKER_00I was like, oh, you know how those TikToks where they're like, oh, when the DJ tries to change the song so you can sit down? Yeah, change the song because I know how to dance all of them.
SPEAKER_03You're probably in that dance circle breaking down then.
SPEAKER_00I wanted to so bad, I wanted to leave my tent, but I'm like, I cannot. But yeah.
SPEAKER_03What did you hear about 702 market?
SPEAKER_00Um, I was on Instagram actually, and it popped up. And I'm like, you know what? I'm gonna try because I I it was that one, and then there was another one that's in Green Valley, I believe, that they do a lot there. Uh, I don't remember the name of that one, but for some reason I was like, you know what? I'm not sure about that one. I don't think demographically I would do okay there. So yeah, but you guys popped up on my Instagram. I was like, you know, I'm gonna try it. Maybe they'll, you know, they'll let me in and we'll go from there. And yeah, you guys did. You guys accepted my application and been with you guys since then.
SPEAKER_03Yes, they're basically since we started, yes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's times where I do take time off though, just because birthdays or something that month, but I try to be there.
SPEAKER_03And what makes you keep coming back?
SPEAKER_00Um, you guys, besides the music, the music honestly, you guys are the most organized event that I've ever been to. Uh yes, your guys' themes, your guys' setup, just like everything. Like it's so like we're organized. You guys have where the food trucks are at, you know, like that area, and then you guys have the vendors, but you guys don't just have like certain vendors in the front and the side, you guys mix and match it, which I love. You know, you get a different type of uh a vendor every single time next to you.
SPEAKER_03Yes, and I mean, thank you for paying attention to that detail. We literally set a day where we go through the map and we pick, like, okay, this vendor goes here, and then we try to make friendships in between. We're like, I feel like this vendor would get along with this vendor, let's create a friendship.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, and I and trust me, you guys do because I've had vendors, you know, that are really, really super nice and like well, like, oh, it's windy, but let's put our tents together, you know. So you make that little friendship, the the following, you know, you follow each other or you tag them if you bought something from them. So, yes, I love that. I love having uh vendors like that next to me.
SPEAKER_03So, because of the market world, that's what you focus on. What would you tell a vendor who's thinking about applying at any type of market or any type of event?
SPEAKER_00Uh try to go to one of their events first.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Yeah, because if you look at social media, do you kind of watch that also? Does that fall into how you decide things?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, um, definitely. I do I do check uh social media, TikTok, Instagram. Um, but again, if you if you go yourself, because you you could look at it on Instagram and TikTok. Let's just say, like, for instance, like a restaurant, you know, somebody's like, oh, you should go here, you try this, it's good. And then you go and it's not good. It's the same thing with the market. I suggest you go and you try it out and see how things are, the atmosphere, and then you go from there.
SPEAKER_03You have to experience it on your own.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
unknownOh no.
SPEAKER_00It was I honestly to me, it felt very disorganized. Yes, there was just everything was everywhere. Like every type of vendor was just mixed and matched and mashed up. And like I don't know. I and I look at now the tents, how they're all like, you know, you guys have we have to have our canopy straight line, and I'm looking at all that now, and I'm like, this is not 702 market. Like, no.
SPEAKER_03I think it's honestly a trial and error. It's so hard doing a market. We learned like the hardest way. We saw it ourselves from a drone, and we were like, oh no, Arizona Charlie's, and we're like, this does not look good. Like it look like it looked bad. So it's kind of like it's hard. I don't I don't know situation with the tens. I mean, some people don't want to line them up, some people want to be in their own area.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, but but it's your but the thing is with that, it looks so just well organized. That is you know, with you guys being specific, like and looking at that detail, it like to me looks clean, you know. It doesn't look like messy, like when I I'm telling you, when I went, I I literally just went to support a family member that he was um doing something um at the first Friday, and then obviously to go get my uh carnasada fries from Senor Barrias. But you suppose we love his carnazada fries, and my kids love the birra egro, so that's an always something that we always get. Yes, it's it always hits and it never like it's never like it's never the same, it's always good. Um but yeah, so we went to that and I'm like, uh, we gotta go. I felt very anxious, like very it was just too much for me. I'm like, no, I can't do this. I because they were asking, like, you should try it, and I'm like, no, thank you. No, I'm sorry, no, no shame to them, but yeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, like you said, every business has to think about their demographic, and you have to pay attention what audience do they pull and see if it's within your business, and if it doesn't, then it's okay if you're gonna look for a different market. Just like we've kind of experienced with vendors where they're like, oh, this isn't really our demographic, we didn't sell too well, so they would go another market, and it's it's understandable. Yeah, have you done any festivals, big festivals or anything?
SPEAKER_00No, I haven't. I I really did want to do, I think it was um the Foodie Fest, I think they were allowing vendors, but I'm like, I don't know if that would go with me. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_0250-50, if you don't know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I haven't um, and then there was another one that they were having at the Rio. I don't remember the name, and that one did look like I was like, I kind of want to join it, but then at the same time, uh, when you look at the fee, you're like, I don't know if that's you know something I can do right now.
SPEAKER_03That is true. No, that makes sense. You have to again think of your business first.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes. So it's like it's either I get new stuff or do I do the you know? So yeah, I look out for that. Yeah. Okay. And then oh, go ahead, go ahead. No, no, go ahead. No, it's okay.
SPEAKER_03So the real side of business now. I mean, we kind of touched um how you started your business, but let's talk more about things that people don't usually see or hear about. What is something that would be considered the hardest part of owning a business?
SPEAKER_00Let's see, making those sales um and keeping it going because without my without sales, I don't feel like I can bring new things often because it is my category. I feel like it changes so fast that I need something new like every month.
SPEAKER_03So is that ever like overwhelming?
SPEAKER_00Because you're like, oh, I have to for me, I have to keep up with trends to see what's like what is our generation into because our woman is behind, so I get overwhelmed with social media, so it's yes, definitely, yes, definitely, yes, because it's like I'm telling you, it's something new all the time, but again, um you also look at things that like okay, this is this trend's gonna last a little bit, you know. I don't have to continue to change it for the next time, but yes, it's it's hard to keep up, very hard.
SPEAKER_03And when you said that you follow the themes of our markets with your clothing pieces, which market did you like the best that fit like which market did you do good on, but also that you like the best?
SPEAKER_00Um, let's see. So I love the bad bunny. I am I am that girl that loves the color, the flowers, the the weird print. I don't bring it often because I feel like a lot of people would be like, I don't know about that. But the the brightness just just I don't know, it gives you like this this feeling of just being happy. You should try it.
SPEAKER_03You don't know, honestly. You don't know what people will like. I mean, I like the bright colors that when my videographer they post uh they do videos of your scent and you can see all the pints and orange and pretty like yes, mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00That that I well what again I was going with the theme, and then again, um, you know, we have concerts coming up here in Vegas, and one of them is with Carol G, so that kind of also went with you know, like I picked, I was okay, it's bad bunny, but I could use it later for the concert.
SPEAKER_03And I did see that you did a rodeo like outfit on your mannequin.
SPEAKER_00Oh yes, that was for the rodeo. Yeah, for the rodeo theme. Honestly, that that that market, I was so blessed for the amount of love that my tank got that day. Yes, yes. I was just like, I literally sat in my car after we were done and I just started crying. I was just so excited, like, wow, like I did this, you guys did this with your help, but you guys did this, and no, but you did it too.
SPEAKER_03I mean it meant a lot. You picked special pieces that you knew that people were gonna shop for, and look at yeah, I was like, wow, like I've and not one complaint of my price because I've had complaints like oh it's too expensive, and I'm like, what do you mean?
SPEAKER_00Like, I'm I I thought I was good at the you know the average price that I'm trying to keep everything up, but okay, thank you. I'm sorry, this is my price, but yeah, not one complaint. Everybody would just yeah, it was it was it was I was excited, I was happy.
SPEAKER_03That's really good to hear. Yeah, does does vintage does vintage clothing affect your clothing?
SPEAKER_00I feel like it has made a shift a little bit, but again, there's still people out there that would um get something that's more, you know, in this um fashion trend.
SPEAKER_02Everyone's unique, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, everybody has their own style, and if you know my stuff isn't for you, it's okay. You know, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And what's something that surprised you about owning a business?
SPEAKER_00The back end of it. You know, there's more than just owning a business, there's taxes and all this write-offs and all these things that you have to keep you know track of.
SPEAKER_03And have you ever wanted to quit?
SPEAKER_00Um, honestly, no. I I there was even when I have no sales, it's okay. I'm gonna keep going because there's other things that I want to bring into my business that I'm working on right now. Oh, really? Can you or like it's like um so it's gonna be, and I'm hoping sooner or later, but I'll be bringing one of a kind pieces, meaning they will be um you won't find them anywhere else because it will only be made by me.
SPEAKER_03That's awesome. So you're actually basically you said you used to draw when you were younger.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's amazing.
SPEAKER_00That will become so unique little pieces that um that I make. So hopefully that comes soon.
SPEAKER_03But you only sell clothes.
SPEAKER_00I know you sell a bunch of other little accessories and yes, so what I started when I did start, I only started pretty much with clothes. Um, but then eventually as I started getting a little bit more sales, I already knew that I wanted to bring accessories and um to my store because I wanted it to be an like a one shop, like one-stop shop. You come in, you need an outfit, you need earrings, you need bracelets, you need purse, you know.
SPEAKER_03The whole thing.
SPEAKER_00You got the whole thing, yes.
SPEAKER_03Okay, and what's one thing that nobody had told you before starting, Celestial?
SPEAKER_00Like something that you had to learn the hard way, also that not everybody's going to um support your business.
SPEAKER_03100%. I agree with that.
SPEAKER_00Especially family. Especially, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's a hard like pill to swallow because you would think that family would be your first supporter. Yeah. It's not always in it's not always like that in certain cases.
SPEAKER_00No, it's not. And it's not like you know, you had to buy something from me, you know. The support comes from just reposting my posts or liking it. That's it.
SPEAKER_03That is true. That is true. It's supporting a different way instead of applying things.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Exactly.
SPEAKER_03This is more gestures. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, and that's when you're like, oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03But the outside is it sounds like you have like the full support of friends that you have.
SPEAKER_00I do. I have um the support from uh some of my friends and then um close family, um, and then uh, you know, all the new people that come and shop from my store. I feel like strangers are more supportive. 100%.
SPEAKER_03No, I mean that's something that we can relate in this it seems like we can relate in most ways, but that's something that we relate to because that's we were surprised in the beginning, we thought family would be your first supporter, because I mean everyone has that kind of idea. But yeah, it doesn't always turn out that way. But it doesn't mean you're gonna stop. You continue.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna continue, and if you guys, you know, want to continue with me, go ahead. If not, it's okay. It's okay, because I'm not gonna stop. I'm gonna keep going.
SPEAKER_02I 100% agree on that. That's how it be.
SPEAKER_03What's the funniest customer story that you have?
SPEAKER_00The funniest customer story, I'm trying to think. I think the funniest are the little kids that come into my tent. Yeah, and I'm like, are you sure you can wear that? Like, where's your mom? Yes, I yes, the mom in me comes out. I'm like, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Instead of trying to make this out, you're like, well, maybe not this.
SPEAKER_00I feel like maybe a bracelet is better for you. Yeah, I'm like, no, I think you're you're still too young, but yeah, I think it's just the little girls trying to be older. I'm like, no, just stay little, just just wait a little bit.
SPEAKER_03Like going to stores and seeing like Khaleesi's her daughter's um clothing area and the clothes that they're making them wear crop top. Oh like no. All this stuff, we're like shocked because this is not how it should be. Like, why why are they wearing that?
SPEAKER_00Yes, they're making them try to look like if they're 21. I'm like, no, they're like three years old. Don't worry, I'm like, you're not wearing no crop top, you're wearing split top. Yes, a princess shirt, come on.
SPEAKER_03I'm like, no, it's just crazy nowadays.
SPEAKER_00Yes, it is.
SPEAKER_03But that's funny that you brought that up about the whole mom thing. Um, our mom, our mom remembers you by uh when you stood up for my sister at Arizona Charlie. You were um, I don't know what happened, but it's because I was guiding um everyone to their spots. Yes. And I guided her to her spot, and the guy next to her was being snappy because his stuff was within her space, and we asked him to move it, and he kind of was being snappy. I don't remember like the actual conversation, but I just remember she kind of put him in a space and was like, oh, you need to do your stuff. Yeah. And that's how my mom remembered it. I remember Celeste go because she stood up for Sabrina. That's how she remembers. And I honestly like something that we really appreciate because being two females, young females, people don't take this serious. So they're like, Oh, why do I have to listen to you kids? Yes. So when you stepped in and you kind of spoke up for me, it felt good, like, oh, you have my back.
SPEAKER_00No, yes, definitely. He he was being rude, and and the thing is with me, like you're being polite, and there's no reason for you for for a man to speak to a young girl like that. Like you're you know, to me, you look like if you were one of my daughters. I mean, I mean, I you know, the mom instinct of me, just like that mama bear, like, no, no uh you're not gonna speak to Adam. Pretty much move your stuff because you're in my spot. Because the it was the vendor behind us. Um, and the vendor next to us, I remember you asked him and he moved his stuff right away. And he was the one that does like the uh the uh what is it? The shirts with the air airbrush. He politely moved his stuff. The one behind us. I remember uh he was like he said something snappy to you back, and I'm like, excuse me? Like, no, no, no, no, no, no. Like it's one people, yeah. We're tired. We wanna, you know, we wanna uh put our stuff up. Like, you know, he could have told me, like, hey, just give me a second, I'll move my stuff right now, it's done. But no, he had to say something. I'm like, oh, and then throughout the night, he kept hitting my tent and my kids' heads with his elbow. Yeah, and the thing was like, my kid, I'm like, please don't tell your dad. Because my husband, you know, would have been like, excuse me, sir, you need to stop. But I'm like, let's just let it be, just scoop back. He's obviously still upset because I said something to him. So I'm like, just you know, we'll just don't don't put your back against the the tent.
SPEAKER_03I don't know why people are like that. Like it's actually a vendor community, like people everyone trying to make money at the end of the day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I and I get it. We're we're tired, we're hot, we just unloaded, like it's a lot, and but there's no reason to talk to anybody like that. And I'm like that anywhere, you know. I I I'll be uh like we I recently we went to Dollar Tree and somebody got upset because at Dollar Tree you have to pay for your balloons first and then they go uh uh blow them up. And this guy was throwing a fit, and I'm like, excuse me, not around me. Uh uh. And my kids are like, Mom, I'm like, no, he's being a bully. I I don't stand for that. I don't like that.
SPEAKER_03Honestly, me and my mom, we we don't stand for that. You talk a certain way, give us a certain look. I'm like, that but when it comes to business, we have to be like more customer service, yes.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we can professionally everyone, yes, professionally. There's a way to talk, but I yeah, definitely cursing in your head. Yes, definitely, like you want to throw hands right now, but you can't.
SPEAKER_03Have you had that moment? Have you had a customer like that where it's like, oh my god, or starting a Karen or some type of customer that you were cursing in your head about?
SPEAKER_00No, actually, every customer I've had, honestly, has been amazing. Like they're really nice, polite. Uh you'll get the one that doesn't want to talk, and that's okay. Um, but most of the time, like I try to draw a conversation. If I see like no, okay, I'll but no, never had anybody be rude to me or or anything like that, thankfully. Thankfully, yeah, thankfully.
SPEAKER_03And is there is there like any is there one question a customer always asks you?
SPEAKER_00Um oh yeah, do I have a store? Yes, I'm like, I'm like, not yet, not yet, but it's it's getting there, yes. So I no, and I feel like it it is a sign because I was telling my husband recently, like before you guys started the podcast of vendors, I told him I was like, the crazy stuff is that I pictured myself in a podcast.
SPEAKER_03Really?
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, and that like I would like talk about it in my head, like what would I say? How you know, like but I pictured myself talking in a podcast, and then when you guys came to me, I was like, oh my gosh, and I was so I was so excited. I was like, look, babe, like this is happening, and I had thought about this in my brain, like I I pictured myself in the future, you know, like you manifested it.
SPEAKER_02I did, I'm like crazy, it was crazy.
SPEAKER_00I was like, Oh, so I'm like, so yeah, so my thoughts of me keep going and having a store, it's gonna happen one day, so maybe down the line, but it will happen eventually.
SPEAKER_03No, that's the goal happen if you keep manifesting it like you do with the podcast. I know, but later we'll it was crazy because I to me, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So in my brain, sometimes you know, you talk to yourself or whatever, but it's just like I pictured it and I'm like, I I picture myself talking to somebody, but I don't know who, and here we are.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so that's straight up manifestations. Or you're a witch, one of those.
SPEAKER_00I I honestly I've always I have that not necessarily a witch, but I feel like uh intuition in yeah, it's more of a um it's called something else in the Bible. Uh uh it's like when you know you get a feeling and you're like, okay, that person's not good, or okay, yes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, too. We have that too. And my mom's usually the one that's because we can foresee like a vendor being an issue, or like we can get vibes off people in genuine in general. And my mom's more the person to give people chances. Like, no, like maybe it was a first-time interaction, or maybe give them a chance, but then they end up proving us. Yeah, we're like C. I told you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's me. I'll meet somebody, yeah. I'll meet somebody and I'll get a vibe. I'm like, nope, they're they're like this, and nobody believes me, and down the line, oh, oh, I told you.
SPEAKER_02You understand?
SPEAKER_00I do, definitely, yeah. So I mean, I guess that's why I don't really have you know a lot of a lot of friends because I could see a lot of things, and I'm just like, you know what, I'll keep my distance. The lejitos, because I don't need this drama or I don't need that, you know, in my life.
SPEAKER_03We're just making your circles small, our circle is very small, yeah. Very picky.
SPEAKER_00Yes, very you have to be. You have to surround yourself with people who are gonna be supportive but genuine. Yes, you know, we don't need that front in there, you know, being fake. Oh, yes, and uh and that happens a lot to me when I go out.
SPEAKER_02Really?
SPEAKER_00So yes, like if I go out the next week, I'm dead. Because I feel it.
SPEAKER_03I feel that that's what that was a myth.
SPEAKER_00No, I um that's how I felt with uh First Friday. That's why I said it was too much, I had to leave. I was drained and I was not there that long.
SPEAKER_03So it could be just all those people's energies, maybe all those people. Okay, I can agree because there is times where like we can go to like a certain location and then we're just like tired. Or so like some people that we talk about. Or some people we're talking to come out with like power and just are low. Yeah, yeah. Like, why are we so tired of it? Funny story, recently we were staying at a hotel and we were swimming in the pool, and this guy, it was only my knee swimming, but we're like in the hour. And this guy was swimming and he started talking to us, and it was like we got this like eerie like like feeling like a murder feeling kind of weird. Um my mom was like, What are what are you doing here? What are you doing at the hotel? Like, do you have family? No, I'm on like a physical trip because I mean what do you do for business? Like, oh she's like, Well, do you do like connection because he's a pediatrician? Yeah, and he's like, I'm a pediatrician, and she's like, Well, are you here for a connection? And he's like something like that. And we're like, But asking us questions like, Oh, what are you doing? Where do you live? And it was just like weird. And after that, like interaction, we were tired. We were tired. We won't we kept thinking about it. I think the next day I kept thinking about it, and I was like, it was just a weird yeah.
SPEAKER_00That intuition was high, and your energy was being sucked out. Yeah. That's crazy. Yeah. But it it is, I don't feel like it's a myth. I feel like it is a thing. Like when you go out certain places and you feel it, you're like, I don't know if I should be here. And the next day you're drained. Or like when you're with a certain surrounding yourself with certain people, and you're like, you know what? Those are not my people. I feel a certain way. Like, I'm starting staying away.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I always thought it was um some I've always heard stories, but I didn't think it was actually true.
SPEAKER_00No, no. I feel like I don't know. Now we know, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Teaching us. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Which product surprised you the most that would be like a bestseller? We got on topic, right now.
SPEAKER_00I know. Honestly, the cheetah print. I did not think that there was a cheetah print shirt that I I got like I don't know, I think it was last year. It was when it was starting to come out, cheetah print everywhere. It was a spaghetti strap. Honestly, I did not think that thing was gonna do so good. It sold out that day.
SPEAKER_03Really? Yeah, it's crazy because it's those kind of prints that are coming back. Like I see the print. I see all those zebra. Yeah, I see the zebra. There was a phase I I think that was zebra.
SPEAKER_00Everything those prints I used to wear back in my day because I am older, I'm a millennial. And I used to wear zebra print. I had these zebra print purple and white pants, okay?
SPEAKER_02Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00And I love them. Well, I started noticing uh things like on where I get my stuff from, and I'm like, zebras coming back, black and white. Um, and then also in like beige and brown, they're coming up with the different colors, um, but definitely prints are coming, they've been back. Same with the polka dots. I feel like the polka dots though, it's kind of fading out a little bit. Yeah, um, but cheetah's still up there.
SPEAKER_03I'm not personally, I'm not like a print person. Yeah, yeah, but it's just crazy that people like that stuff. Like it's crazy that generations are coming back. Yes, and stuff is coming back.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh, yes, like my um capri pants. Oh yeah, they're so cute.
SPEAKER_03I have to have some um bullets.
SPEAKER_00I wear those, I wear those things everywhere.
SPEAKER_03I want to get a pair because they're so cute, just like ballet flats are coming back.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, ballet flats, yes. We used to call them the stinky shoes.
SPEAKER_02The stinky shoes.
SPEAKER_00Because ballet flats back then would make your feet stink like corn chips.
SPEAKER_03That is true though. I don't even wear belly flats when I was little. Yeah, I wore belly flats at school.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yes, to school, yes. Um, and then the the gaucho pants are coming back. I used to wear those. And they used to wear those with some glittery belts and then those 99 cent chanklas that were like in different colors, but they had this this like this net over them. Oh my god, they were like slip-ons.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, yeah, I never have seen those. I've seen them, I've seen them. They're coming back too. Like it's yeah, are they like plastic?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, they're plasticky. They have like it looks like a little net over them for over your toes, and then they have they might have flowers, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_00Those are coming back. The other the other stuff I used to wear with them were like the the heel that was like all not chunky, like it's like a square, I think. Uh yeah, it's like um it's thicker in the back, like it's all thick together, the heel, but it's thicker in the back and it just starts getting skinnier towards the front. I don't know how okay, okay. Yeah, so yep, those are coming back. Yeah, all these chunky and nine early 2000 heels sandals.
SPEAKER_03I don't know who brings them back.
SPEAKER_00Just when I saw that they were bringing back the gaucho pants, I was like, please put those back. Or the low the low, low rise, like oh the low, low rise.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, mini meanie like micro shirts, micro mini shirts. Yeah, so you find like a bandoo, like a brand.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, no, the low rise women, please don't do that. Your muffin top's gonna stick to the top.
SPEAKER_03It's high-rise all day. Micro is high rise, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I yeah, my mom used to always be like, esos pantalones, those pants, do not wear those, they're gonna mess up your sides. And they didn't listen.
SPEAKER_03But it's crazy, like seen on TikTok or Pinterest, and people just crazy bringing back things, and sometimes my mom is like, Oh, when we go to stores, they used to have those back then.
SPEAKER_00I know really because I don't know if they had back then, so yeah, like Hollister, um, all the baby doll tops uh that they're coming out with, all the stuff they're coming out with, um, yeah, definitely was from the early 2000s. Yeah, I'm like, this is crazy, yes.
SPEAKER_03So going into like a questionnaire, we'll go like a fast questionnaire. And this or that. It's not even about it's like off topic. Yeah, let's just know your personality, you know. Okay, so some quick answers coffee or tea?
SPEAKER_00Coffee.
SPEAKER_03Okay, you you knew that one. Yeah, is it like a specific place you have to?
SPEAKER_00Um, so if I'm out, uh it is Starbees, sorry.
SPEAKER_03I'm getting Starbucks now. Me and my mom, she likes matcha, strawberry matcha.
SPEAKER_00Oh, the lavender matcha.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you've tried that one?
SPEAKER_00Yes, that's so I was a got addicted to it a little bit. Ended up buying the lavender syrup on Amazon. Oh and I would make it at home, yeah, because I was getting a little too, it was getting a little bit too much.
SPEAKER_02You're an addict, yes.
SPEAKER_00But that one and then the oat milk shaken espresso. I I like my coffee strong, I have to have it strong.
SPEAKER_03That is strong. I used to work at Starbucks uh after high school. I worked at Starbucks, and that was strong.
SPEAKER_00Yes, we've got phase two.
SPEAKER_03We are going constantly to Starbucks, trying different drinks on the menu.
SPEAKER_00Oh man, yeah, it gets addictive, but it gets pricey. So I'm like, you know what? We have coffee and matcha at home.
SPEAKER_03You know how to make matcha?
SPEAKER_00I do. Yeah, I I bought my or the one from Costco, they sell an organic one, but it's really good. Yeah, you have to send us a video. They're like, this is how you make it.
SPEAKER_03I'll make it for my mom now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, but for sure. The lavender matcha is amazing. I love that flavor, it just goes good together, feels fresh refreshing.
SPEAKER_03Are you morning or night?
SPEAKER_00Morning. I'm a morning person.
SPEAKER_03He likes Matha. Yeah, can talk in the morning. I can't really talk. Yeah, I'm like, give me five minutes.
SPEAKER_00Like I'm a chatterbox.
SPEAKER_03Are your kids and your husband also?
SPEAKER_00Um, no. So my husband is a morning person. Uh the kids depends on which one. Um, right now they're on vacation, so they've been taking advantage. But I have two two that are night owls, and one that he my son, he's more of a morning person.
SPEAKER_03Okay, we have someone to talk to. Two people.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Are you Instagram or TikTok?
SPEAKER_00Oh shoot. Uh okay, I'm gonna pick Instagram right now because I've been sticking to that one, but I'm starting to go to TikTok a little bit more. But Instagram, yeah.
SPEAKER_03It seems like TikTok is where it's ever now.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So with me with TikTok, like I'll be on for a bit and then I'll stop and then I'll go again. But right now I've been sticking to it a lot more. I feel like I get more more love there.
SPEAKER_03That's good though. That's good that you're open uh you're opening your social media planning works.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I gotta get back to that and start recording myself more. I stopped for a while and there was a personal reason. It was a little scary. The internet is scary. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03We learn that the hard one too. Yeah, we learned that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's creepies and people that end up knowing personal stuff in your life that you wouldn't have thought a stranger would know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's scary. That's like the next level scary.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's why a lot of my posting I had stopped myself, like myself physically posting me.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that makes sense. That makes sense. Like you do a lot of mannequins now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I started again, but I'm trying to just not show my face. But yeah, I stopped. I was creeped out, so that's sad.
SPEAKER_03I have to change your ways because of other people.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Yep. But I mean it's it to me, it was more of a security for my kids. You know, yeah, my family.
SPEAKER_03But you because we are in Vegas, let's get the Vegas vibes from you. What's your favorite local restaurant that you like go to?
SPEAKER_00My favorite go-to restaurant. Let me see, where do we go to all the time? Honestly, when we are with the family, yard house.
SPEAKER_03Yard house. I've always wanted to try that place too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we always go to yard house. We mainly go there after church on Sundays. Um, but if we're on a day night, like the broiler at the Boulder Station for steak is amazing and it's not that expensive.
SPEAKER_03I feel like any station casino food though is good.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I mean they have to make up for it because there's no more buffets.
SPEAKER_03We were buffet people, me too.
SPEAKER_00Oh, my dad would get the because he would always have the rewards that we eat for free.
SPEAKER_03That was our grandpa, our grandpa. He's like, We got a deal. Let's go. Let's go. And we were getting picky. We were like, uh, can we not have alianza? Let's try some buffet today. Let's get a red rock.
SPEAKER_00It's a different one. Yeah, do you have so many to choose from, and now you're like, oh man, we don't have nothing now.
SPEAKER_03Nothing. We remembered those times. It was good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. But you have a boiler.
SPEAKER_03What's your favorite thing about Las Vegas?
SPEAKER_00Uh, let's see. Um, what is there my favorite thing of Vegas? I'm trying to think, like the night life, the morning life. No. Um what is there fun to do as myself? Honestly, okay. The concerts that we have here. That's my thing. We have so many amazing concerts uh here in Vegas. I just I love that that you don't have to travel to see your favorite artist in another state or whatnot.
SPEAKER_03That is true. I feel like they're bringing more artists out here. I know most of them before.
SPEAKER_00Yep, and and like the different um venues that they're having them at, you know, you get to experience Vegas like that.
SPEAKER_03Okay, that's a good answer. Yeah, that's a very yeah, I haven't written the answer yet. What's what hidden gem everyone should visit? Like something you recommend.
SPEAKER_00Hidden gem here in Vegas. Let me see. Obviously, the 702 Marcus now. Oh, take a lotion for us. Yeah, right. Um, let me see. So it's because I'm I'm I'm a homebody a lot, so I'm trying to think like what do we enjoy doing? Um, hidden gem. Um, you know what? I mean, if you're an outdoorsy person, Mount Charleston, if you like to just get out of Vegas and get some clean air, there's a lot of trails up there you to do that are safe too, and it it's just refreshing.
SPEAKER_03That is a good answer. And it's not too far. Yeah, that is a good answer. We're indoor people too. We're more like uh homebodies. Yeah, um if someone would ask me a hidden gem, I would be I don't know. My house.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_03I was gonna say my house, but then closing off this top this podcast, what I know you mentioned that you have new exciting things coming. What is something else that is next for your business?
SPEAKER_00Um hopefully allowing um pickups. Um, instead of just basically just ordering online, allowing people to pick up their orders. Still trying to work on that because of safety reasons, but yeah, that'd be a good option to have. Yeah, because a lot of a lot of people would rather try it on, you know, and I understand that because I'm that's that way too. I hate returning things, period. I'll forget. No, um but I feel like people would rather um touch, feel, uh, and try on the stuff. So that's something that I I have talked a lot about, but we're still trying to figure out how to do it.
SPEAKER_03That would be a great idea. I like that you're making uh customers like um well, you're a customer yourself too when you go shop, so you're taking that into consideration.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I try to do that like with my business. There's some people that I've have allowed, but it's because I know them personally or like they're actually family friends. Um, but it's just trying to allow other people to do that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and where can where can everyone find you?
SPEAKER_00Oh, they can find me on Instagram. Uh uh, it's celestial underscore is style underscore co. Um, and then my website is linked to that, or you could uh go on you know your web browser, google celestial styleco.com.
SPEAKER_03Perfect, perfect. And then also include that in the bio and everything so that people can find it easier. And then of course on our markets they can find it as well. Yes, yes. And what what do you hope people remember after the person?
SPEAKER_00Um, let's see. Oh, that's a good question. Uh hopefully they remember I don't know. Oh, wow, I've never been asked that. I think it's you guys, yeah. So yeah, I guess so, because a lot of people think I'm quiet or I have a RBF sometimes. And I I'm not trying to. I definitely am not trying to. It's just I'm very shy. I'm very, very shy person. Um, but once, you know, once I start to get in a feel, then I'll start like out of my show. And I'm working on that because I know that I can be quiet sometimes when people come to my booth, but I hopefully my personality, because I do I I I love everybody who comes in, it just gets me excited. I feel like a little kid, you know, like oh my god, they're visiting me. But yeah, definitely, hopefully, you my personality and myself.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, I think it is your personality. You're so genuine and warm-hearted. I mean, once you go into your booth, you you can feel that. I mean, we've known you for a little bit, so we can feel that too. So I'm hoping I'm gonna answer that question for you. I'm hoping that they remember your personality.
SPEAKER_00Yes, definitely. Thank you.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yes, you're outfit.
SPEAKER_00Thank you. Yeah, I try. I it and I try not to keep everything for myself, obviously, because like I have to make it. But this last time when I did the the bad bunny when I was like, you know, I'm gonna wear something so people could see it on me. And definitely it worked. It worked. Yes, I had people coming that they saw me going to the bathroom and they were rushing to my tent to get that outfit that I had on.
SPEAKER_03So yes, like a walkie mannequin.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, that's awesome.
SPEAKER_03But thank you so much for coming on our podcast for being with us since Arizona Charlie's. Yes, no, thank thank you guys, even though you almost passed out, you're so excited.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, I got so scared, but I survived. Drink your swittles because it helps. But yes, for real. Thank you guys for being here. No, thank you guys. I appreciate you guys having me and honestly taking an opportunity on on myself. So thank you guys. I I appreciate it.
SPEAKER_03Thank you. But thank you so much for hanging out with us today, guys. Make sure you guys go support Celestial at our markets, shop local, and we'll see you on the next episode of Seven Two Cheeseman.
SPEAKER_00All right, thank you guys. Bye.
